      HI Guys

I bought one of these for a good price.

It very well built, minus motor, radio, servo and battery.

Full set of new decals with a number of these installed.

The catch poles each side of the wheelhouse require replacing(no problem).

The bearings in the drive line are shot, so a mate is making a set and resizing to 4mm shaft with dog drive setup.

Require good close up pictures of the anchor, mast and the foam tubes and fittings please.

The wiring in the closed up wheelhouse section is another problem, it is a mess and some of the lights do not work.

Looks like a removal of the roof and fix the mast up.

Hope one of you help me out, please.

      Regards

      Harry Smith

            Hi Harry

Lovely looking example, have a look at Vintage Model Works they still sell the kit & fittings and have some photos of the originals (fullsize) only 2 built which didn't get much use.

            Regards Ray

Nice model Harry, which brings back memories. My model gave good performance and was powered by an OS60 glow motor. It wasn't as well detailed as yours. Glow powered boats always took a 'hammering'.

When the councils started to frown on i.c power, I did attempt an electric conversion, but at the time there was no brushless and lipo. I was never happy with the performance and sold the model at auction.

I like the 1/24th scale mini version by Deans Marine and in their sales info. is a brief history (link below).

                Hi Ray

The aft cabin paint is all crack and the top of the mast is very sitting in place by the wires.

The rear foam hoses are missing, but, I found a bit of black 240 volt power extension cable look the right size.

Hope someone posts some nice close up pictures for me.

The original one's are only white metal I was told and not very good!!!

The anchor looks to be about 50 to 60mm, I may make my own.

The brushless motors I have in stock are a D3548/4-1100kv 910 watts or the 3648-1450kv 1600 watts.

I know these work well on 40 to 50 2 blade prop.

I am having the original Graupner X50 converted in to 3/16" dog drive and I can sleeve it to 4mm.

If this prop does not work my mate can have it for his Spearfish.

                  Hi Tony

The OS60 was about 1.6HP @ 16,000rpm and generally the props where to big for the motor.

I had a 24" tunnel hull with a OS40FSR 1.6HP@20,000rpm and never hit full throttle.

One of the motors I am thinking of installing(3648-1450kv) is a little over 2HP @ 16000 on 3S Lipo or 21,460 on 4S.

I have one in a offshore ABS racer and it moves!!!!

The weight of the Vosper will test it out.

                      Hi Harry

Is your new Fire boat the big one 46" or the smaller 34" ?

                      Regards Ray

                        Hi Ray

IT IS THE BIG ONE, ALL 46 INCHES!!!!!!

                        Built in 2011.

The crew I have for it are 4 and 3/8" or 135mm, all wrestling figures with pony tails but at $2 each cheap.

I use some on the Sea Hornet and in the Northwind.

I ordered the batteries and a ESC for that plan, but the plan is getting a few mods( battery hatches in the sponsons).

We have car boot sales over here in the summer, and they are a great source of discarded toys

My crew figures look amazing like Harry Potter & Pirates of the Caribean cast 50 pence is my limit

                              Hi Ray

At 25 and 1/4" I thought the Sea Hornet was too small, but, smaller not for this guy.

We have o number of town markets on very Sunday.

One for the local one's as a lot of wrestling figures( 1 /12 scale) at $5 and 6 AU.

The same size in the shops are $24 and yes I got caught.

The one's for the Sea Hornet were only $2 each.

I sold by Cyclops Lightning pedal car( which was given to me by an old boss) for $200 AU.

So I bought the boat for the same price.

                                  Hi Ray

A few lengths of 500mm plastic pipe sealed ends and a 6HP Seagull out board, no problems.

Or in Aussie case a 10HP!!!

They did race bath tubs with 20HP out boards years ago!!!

Yes they did block up the drain hole.

A bit of work on the boat.

New 4mm driveline with bearing installed with a 3648-1450kv 35mm motor.

                                    Solid alloy coupling.

Started on the wheelhouse roof and made a big mistake!!

I made the hatch 10mm to wide, so I am filling the hole.

Added 10mm magnets to hold down the roof, I only removed it to fix the old non working lights.new turnigy 3648-1450kv motor.jpg
