      Hi can you help …….. i have built a monster boat at 2.1 mtrs long …its based on a sealine motor boat with fly deck……..i need to know what engines  would be good for this….electric motors are what i had in mind but i need 2 with a lot of power

      The props are 11inch and the blades are 75 mm  thanks jh

        John,  you could try Phil Locke. Phil and his mate Ian rework buggy motors to run off 36v for the speedline 1/12 scale Severn Life Boat, I have just purchaced a pair for mine. There is a vidio of his Severn on 48v going at a hell of a lick, hope this is of help.

          You could also look at windscreen motors off older cars which will work off 12v batteries, freinds I know use the 7.2Ah batteries that I use to power their boats … we recycle the batteries rejected by communications gear.  Some [most] are AOK for model use.

          If you want to go petrol then there are the weedeater motors [30cc and 22cc]which we use to power our quarter scale jetboats but you would need a gearbox to split the power into the twin props?  Our boats when properly tuned go faster than older members can handle
