I find building small gives you no leeway in the trim department. Most of my models are “experimental” and I try to build in the most adjustment I can principally for battery location as I am never sure where the weight might need to be when running.
It does mean that some boats are compromised in that the battery ends up at one end or the other and then gear I have squeezed in subsequently didn’t need to be squeezed in, but that’s the way of things.
i can imagine that 15 inches is big enough to put small gear into but leaves precious little room to shift ballast about to get the best running performance. It also gives a lightweight and tender boat in any sort of ‘weather’. Your larger build should give yo plenty of leeway for ballast adjustment for a good look when under power.
Nice to see the 850, should give you more than enough power for the boat.
I have some left over mahogany veneer…I am seriously contemplating a slipper….nice easy build, lots of flat surfaces for easy veneering. will have to see what sort of pilots I have available,,,…
