I am trying to scratch-build a 1:250 scale card model of the Miranda Guinness – she was a purpose-built Guinness tanker that shuttled across the Irish Sea in the 1980’s and early 90’s.
There is a kit of the ship that was/is available from Metcalfe Mouldings and I have been able to get a copy of the (basic) GA drawing that they issued with the kit. The level of detail shown on the GA is ok but I would like to include much more if I can.
What I need are photos of the ship, particularly the decks and rear of the superstructure, though I will willing receive any pictures that anyone has. I have "Googled" and searched the web and got some pictures but not enough to make me comfortable I understand the layout, particularly the run of pipework round the superstructure.
Has anyone out there built the kit and would they have any photos of their kit – or the real ship – I might be able to get, or have them posted in a gallery on this site?
Also, there is a good (large) model of the ship in the Guinness Storehouse in Dublin – has anyone got any pictures of it?
Thanks for any help
