At the moment i’m building,or trying to, a Leander Class frigate of the mid/late 70’s annd am stuck on the bofors guns on the stern above the helicopter hanger.As this boats roughly,very roughly,1/72 scale i was wonder if i could use the Airfix kit Bofors gun and would they need modifying in any way also the Mortars and towed asdic aray i could do with some pictures ,pref scale ones, of these items.they do not have to be exact but as close as possible will be of great help.Also,i know i’m asking for lots,lets keep the price of these items down as i’m out of work.

You asked for pictures, preferably scale ones, of the aforementioned items. If you search around on that site you will find that you buy can these from that site at the princely sum of £1.80 each.

Allan Pew out here in Australia also has many 1/72 scale RN parts > both old & new.

In Task Force 72 we have a few Leanders > my Cleopatra (Exocet) , Geoff Eastwood’s Leander (Ikara) and a couple of Kiwis + several Type 12s both Australian & UK variety. All with Al’s parts.

Mike thanks for the reply and i’ve decided to go with the lynx on the stern end as i’ve more chance of geting sh*t from a rocking horse.I’ve decided to go with sirmar fitings for the bofors and i’ve a great friend who was a gunner in the royal navy and he’s fair rocked my box with all the info on guns and radars etc.
