      As anyone used these receivers from Hobby King. They appear to be a cheaper alternative for my Futaba transmitters, and no receiver crystals.

          Hi tim i bought the synthesized corona receiver and it was a swine to pair up to the transmitter, as yet i have not used it in a model.I all so bought one of there receivers that use a crystal and it worked first time .take care if you order one of these as they all so sell receivers that use mini crystals. its a case of you get what you pay for. I will try them out in a runabout model first before i trust them.regards sammyk

            I have been doing some more reading on the Net and have found some other reports of variable binding. I was looking for a cheaper alternative RX for my 40 mhz Tx. I have used a Cirrus RX on another model and it works well but slightly more expensive with the crystals. So perhaps I will go down that route again.

              Hi Tim I think the corona receiver is as well made as the planet receiver and will work as intended just like the planet equipment. it just takes some time to get it to bind. you can sometimes pick up 40mgz receivers on that well known internet site. when you consider the cost of a corona receiver its not a big outlay if it all goes wrong.good luck. sammyk

                Hello all ,a quick update on the corona 40mg receiver .I fitted one into my rg65 sailboat at the start of this years season and it has worked very well with no problems.I all so fitted another receiver into a have a go boat for the kids and it worked perfect as well.As a cheaper alternative to the futaba receiver I would recommend them. ps I have no connection to corona other than a satisfied customer. regards sammyk
