      Dear All

      I have a lovely 6 channel 35Mhz set in the shed (a left over from my sons aircraft days) and I would love to use it on my boats but I have no idea if it can be converted to 40Mhz so any help would be very gratefully received.

      Its a SANWA model SRC-626OTS

      Merry Christmas to everybody

      Paul

        I `ve got a feeling that no conversion is necessary…………………..just try a 40 meg crystal in it and switch on!……………………….then let us know!

          That just it Bob I don’t know either and I am loath to experiment just in case I damage the equipment. If its just a case of plugging in and switching on then I will be a very happy bunny.

            @60watt

            As far as a transmitter modification is concerned, this link is spot on.

            I’ve read several references to converting receivers but I wouldn’t modify one after my first effort.

            I built the Maplin 27Mhz receiver .It worked but no amount of tuning made a measurable difference to readings.

              Hi 60watt

              Thank you for the input and it is what I feared so I guess that I will have to invest in new 40Mhz set.

              The link that you posted is very informative and I would recommend that everybody have a quick read.

              Thanks again for your informed opinion I appreciate it very much.

              Merry Christmas

              Paul
