I enjoyed reading Charles Oates article in the latest magazine, the Emett inspired Nonsuch.

In the Victoria shopping centre in Nottingham we had had the Emett clock for 50 plus years. Not sure its working fully at the moment . It used build up quite a crowd on the hour to watch it .

The Basildon Eastgate clock, famously known as the Cats Cradle Pussiwillow III (now there’s a name for a boat), is a quirky, intricate 15-foot kinetic sculpture created by the legendary cartoonist and inventor Rowland Emett in 1981.

I believe it’s still there although relocated, and used to attract crowds on the hour. I haven’t seen it for years.

It’s nice to see that I’m not a lone voice in appreciating the wonders of Emett. Im glad the model has stired up some interest.
