As i am out of work and the finer thing in life are that little bit out of reach and i desperately needed a new battery for my Hi Tec Laser 4 and being over £10 is out of pocket but my mate " the mad marine " let me use his battery pack out of his " made in hong kong " transmitter the idea struck me then if i could get hold of a battery cradle that held 8AA battery i would save a few quid . Maplin did not have such an item but my mate suggested joining 2 4 packs together , which he did for me and filled them with 8 duracells and they work a treat , so now i have to invest in 8 rechargeable AA batteries .So i reckon i have saved the better part of £10

very resourcefull but andy where did you put the battery holder?you obviously cant leave it dangle. i got a hitech focus 6 and the tranny battery gone on mine. must be a common fault as i`ve only used it 3 times in 18 months

i know something thats underused on my body but that hasnt died yet. surely the batteries they supply should last a bit longer than that?otherwise they should put a warning in the instructions" by the way if you dont sail your boat more than 3 times a year you will have to come back to us and pay £20 for a new battery because after that amount of time it will be @**@*@

Hi Captainslog . I put the battery case back into its original housing and it went in as smooth as you like . Thus saving a great wedge of dosh .
