Can I run my taco receiver off my 12v drive motor battery or will this fry the receiver?

Replies appreciated before I get unenthusiastic with the volts.

Take it from a fellow electrical dunce who learnt through bitter experience that you can not run a receiver on 12v. At best you will just fry the unit and at worst you will fry / burn / detonate or otherwise destroy your model.

It is best to listen to the sage words of experts like Dave as it will save you loads of money and heartache.

I tend to use high amp 12v to 24v in my models and always use a universal battery eliminator circuit link which I can safely connect to the main battery power supply and has never let me down.
