          Following is information on HMCS Buckingham, the October "mystery".Type: Frigate
          Class: RIVER Class 43-44 Programme
          Displacement: 1445 tonnes
          Length: 301.5 ft.
          Width: 36.6 ft.
          Draught: 9 ft.
          Top Speed: 19
          # Officers: 8
          # Crew: 133
          Weapons: 2-4" (1 x II), 4-20mm, Hedgehog
          Pendant (Hull Number): K685
          Builder: Davie Shipbuilding and Repairing Co. Ltd., Lauzon, Que.
          Laid Down: 10-Nov-43
          Launched: 28-Apr-44
          Commissioned: 2-Nov-44
          Paid Off: 16-Nov-45
          Remarks: Recommissioned as a Prestonian Class on 25-Jun-54. Pendant Number 314. Finally Paid Off 23-Mar-65. Post-War Buckingham Pictured.             The River class makes an excellent model, sails really well and looks good on the water.

            Got a picture in the gallery (page4) its under the heading HMCS Haida, dont believe everything I write!!!, actually the picture "sneaked in" . The model is to 1/48 and is of HMCS New Glasgow commissioned December 1943, converted to Prestonian and recommissioned January 30th 1954.Paid off and scrapped in Japan in 1967, good service life.

            Anybody interested in building one got loads of info on them.
