They were, as is made clear in the adverts insides the magazine, and I have mentioned several times in the past on here but it was proposed to drop to 12 issues just before the magazine was suspendef.

They still are according to the subscription Ad, still  says 13 issues, surprised that the subscription ad has not been suspended yet as they can not say when the Mags will start again.

I'll get in touch with the magazine after the bank holiday, see if they can dig one out for me. I understood that the specials were/are part of the subscription, I had my attention elsewhere and hadn't realised I had been missed out.

Good luck with that ! They are probably furloughed like me an haven't had a chance to edit the website advert, all My time media publications have dropped the extra winter issue as company policy going back to 12 per year for RCM&E as well.

So assuming this discussions re 12-13 issues all happened before the C-19 virus , when were they planning to tell Subscribers that it could be going down to just 12. Although I have noticed that my renewal date is now 15-01-2021 when I am sure it used to be November of the year.

Dave – I think we have free access to the digital editions during the suspension IIRC so at least you should be able to read it?

Yes, I remembered that shortly after posting – and had a read through, so all is not lost. Never been a fan of reading magazines on-line, but in this case, it was very useful.

Go into the cog ( Settings ) on the top bar of this page net to the Inbox, It is just there on the first page with your address details etc.

Ah, thank you! I don't feel too clever now though – I had looked at that page but failed to scroll down far enough! Looks like I'm currently good for the magazine until the end of February, which I think is a month more than it was originally, so appears that they're only taking one cancelled edition (June 2020) into account at the moment. Hopefully, that's all there'll be.

I've been waiting three weeks to hear back from [email protected] to hear what's happen to my May issue that I haven't received. I know that I'm not the only subscriber down under not to have received it.

I know we've all been under the pump but surely some one's still on the payroll and can answer emails.

My subscription runs until 8/2021 and I'd like to think that I'll get the issues I've payed for.

I and I'm sure others would like to have at least been kept in in the loop.

I have a feeling that the sequence of events has been a bit ….dynamic…. at MTM, and my feeling is likely that having constantly changing news would likely cause more upset than it would be informative, thus the apparent secrecy.

It cant be easy trying to double guess the effect that the virus may or may not have on publications…shops and so on.

But, just like Arnie said…..

The longest serving conscripts in our little club might not believe that I am saying this but here goes;

Businesses will be finding it very difficult to 'pick up' from where they were before this evil pandemic and all businesses will be relying heavily upon their loyal customers.

Model Boat Magazine is going to need our help and support whilst they resume publication, this isn't me being altruistic as we all have a vested interest in keeping this publication 'afloat' and I think that we should be asking if there is anything that we, as a community, could be doing to help.

I'm gonna need a few stiff JDs after reading that, Doc. Do you have a continuous cough or a high temperature?

The first thing we might do is agree to desist from complaining about a lack of communication, missing subscription copies, inability to browse news-stand copies before purchase blah blah. We have no idea of the pressures the people at MTM are working under, either professionally or personally. Some folk have lost relatives, colleagues and close friends in the last few months. Others are living in real fear of this damned virus and also other life-threatening ailments which seem to have been sidelined. Let's try to keep a sense of proportion about a model boat magazine, can we?

Rant over.

I know for a fact that things are moving to restart publication very soon with a new editor. More than that I can't say until that person has formulated their plans and makes a public announcement.

insufficient funds to pay the editor and designer, says it all really. forget about the mere minions who already pay high prices to read the mag, supporting the pockets of the rich owners. happens everywhere, nhs fat cats,bbc bosses,list goes on. it doesnt take many people to run a print machine and the length of them i am sure 2m distance wouldnt be a problem.long build i support you, shouldnt be a problem getting subscriptions out. do what everyone is doing at the moment, take the losses and keep most of the customers happy.

Not sure if it is an automated date but when you go into the subscriptions page it says Next issue 31st July 2020.

Captainslog, you clearly have no idea of how the magazines are produced or the economics involved and are making wild assumptions here. The copies are sent out by the printers and not by MTM for a start. This is not the place to parade your political views.No more please or they will be moderated.

If you have a beef then take it up with the company direct and give them the benefit of your wisdom as to how they should be running things. Don't use the forum as a social media platform.
