Nope, not yet. But then, I'm in Belgium, so usually get my copy anything from a couple of days to a couple of weeks later than (most) UK subscribers.

So on the assumption that those in the UK have already received them over 10 days ago, the story MB Subs told me today on the phone is that delivery out of the distribution centre is a load of crock ? !!, I understand that there maybe a delay but the way I see it is that these were probably sent out before the lockdown and disruption to services ?. I did email Kate the day after her email re subscriptions but have had no reply. The message on the system is to give them an extra 10 days. As the Mag is on sale in shops on the 10 April and so Assume subscriptions are sent out prior to that then I am within reason to chase this up ?.

Yes it is reasonable to chase it up. I don't know about Model Boats but most magazines send their subscription copies out in one go. If you miss that batch then you don't get the issue.

Again this was not Model Boats but another title offered to send me replacement copy for one that did not arrive. What I received was 2 copies of the following issue as I had obviously missed the despatch of the one I didn't get.

I would ask for a subscription extension and source the missing issue locally if you can.

I gave it a few extra days as the Posties here walked out a couple of times for unsafe practices re the Virus so thought they might have a back log but would have assumed they had sorted that by now.

Hi All

Just an up date on this.

On the 20th I emailed Beth about not yet receiving the May edition, she replied at 10 PM same day !!. saying she would look into this.

It is apparent that she did just that and on the 22nd I received an email from client services stating that they would send out a replacement , that was on the 22nd at 13:56, at 15:46 what should come through the Door !!! yes the 1st Mag, I contacted them straight away to stop the replacement being sent but they were too quick and it had already gone, The replacement arrived today and as promised to Customer services I will be passing that on to a relative who has shown interest in the past but who does not get a copy.

So My Thanks to Beth and her Team.

I am a current subscriber and have not had any email about a pause in the publication of the magazine – the first I heard of it was when I stumbled across this thread this evening. I bought my first copy of Model Boats in 1970, it'd be a great shame if May 2020 turns out to be my last.

We all hope the magazine gets going again, but like I believe 50% of the British workforce are currently furloughed, I am being paid by the government to stop our company folding, which is all good in these terrible times as far as I'm concerned 😄

Terrible times indeed, the closest equivalent I can think of is the power crisis caused by miners' strikes in the early 70s – I am fairly sure MB missed a month back then but carried on for nearly forty five years uninterrupted.

(Just checked my records, it was 1974 when the February issue was missed due to the three day week).

I have the Feb/March 1974 issue, but missed out on July 1959, possibly because I was only about 18 months old at the time!

I definitely didn't receive that email, but did get May 2020 in the post. I'll just wait until they start sending them out again, not too hard really.

Well didn't get the winter special, even though I wrote to them twice and was assured each time that they have send a new magazine to me, when I asked for it the 3th time, I was informed that they had run out of the Winter special.

Now I am missing the May edition, wrote to asker for it, and got this reply back. "I am sorry the subscriptions have been suspended until further notice due to COVID-19. " so, the UK subscribers was entitled to get the May edition but not overseas!

I know for a fact that neither my local club neither a friend did not get the Winter special and the May edition. Apparently overseas subscribers are not important or??

Hope that MB survives, even though it will not be with my support. I’m not extending my subscription due to the above issues.
