I have two motors.  When I try to run them they run for a couple of seconds then ‘flutter’.  I am powering them with two (one to each) 9.6 volt 3300 Nimh batteries.  I am sure they ran OK last year when first tessted.  They do the same if I eliminate the ESC and run direct from the battery.  Any suggestions.

If it is a motor problem,a change in current draw will show up.
I wonder what different batteries and connectors reveal.

            ps
That is an increase in current due to sticky bearings.
You haven’t scooted wd40 inside the motor? If not, then don’t.
Coupling them to another motor  or drill will run in the bearings.
