Hobbies, as per the catalogue seen in WH Smiths (and online), has gears and wotnot. I think they should be able to sort you out.  You COULD use the MFA 2.5;1 geared motor unit, to save fiddling about?? unless you have the motors already of course.

Why have a gearbox?…..Use a simple motor and keep the speed down!

            Or am I missing something?

              I love you too Bob…..

I believe Ron`s Titanic is a largish boat, and may well require gears on 540/1 motors (assuming the lower powered MFA types) as he is suggesting.

To be honest, a duo of MFA800 motors and a 540/1 for the smaller centre prop  all running on 12v might be more appropriate? If ,as its a larger version to mine is anything to go on, you wont need many revs, and an 800 lightly loaded will only sip at the battery.

As you say Bob, who wants all those gears? (this from a man who has introduced all sorts of extras on his current build!)

i cant just attach the motors in the normal way with a u joint as the shafts run parralel to the keel and the formas are in the way of the motor position, seing as my titanic is 1/100 scale its nearly 9ft long so i want to keep as much strenght in the formas as possible so i thought of putting the motors over the shafts and reducing the ratios.
