Upgrading, nay completing after 25years!!!, a 40+” Vosper Thorneycroft Pilot Boat. Apart form putting a hull in a bath (which I haven’t got) what is the best way to determine the location of my 2 x 3 cell Cyclon battery pack to give best through water performance. These cells weigh a total of almost 4Kg and as the electric motors are located amidships I’m concerned that too far forward will take me bow down and vice versa.
Also any ideas from where I can source 1/12 scale handrail fittings for 1/8″ rod?

As the motors are amid ships I would position the power packs as low as I could over the prop shafts just to the rear of the motors, try building a shelf that spans from chine to chine this will spread the load evenly over the mid section of the boat.

Thanks to all – I’ve only just read some responses. Had a very short run in with a Cardiac Surgeon last Tuesday! He by-passed me three times. Got home Saturday and have already walked a fair distance considering the carving he did. At least he glued me (literally) together again!

                  Hi Gordon
Glad to hear from you again, I’ve had run ins with those guys and it is no fun at all (good glue though)
Take it easy and watch the medication.
