I've just bought the plans for the Thames Barge 'Celia Jane'.

Can anyone tell me which issue of Model Boats this was published in?

Hi Noel,

Celia Jane build was published in the Sept/Oct/Nov/Dec 1984 issues of Model Boats.

The Metcalf kit was reviewed in the Nov/Dec 2002 issues by Ivor Warne

Some sailng tips were published in the Nov/Dec 2008 issues by Ivor Warne.

Thanks for your welcome and the information Gents.

The jury is still out as to whether I'll decide to build Celia Jane. If I do I would very likely use a different construction method to the one on the plan. I've still to finish my existing barge build and have a few more projects in the pipeline. It is an intriguing idea though.

I didn't know there was a Celia Jane kit, although that might throw some light on the fact that there was a version of the model on the Sarik DVD that was built on a GRP hull.

I'll get over to the Thames Barge thread Ray.
