i recently purchased this old sea commander from an antique shop
      my first rc boat.

im mechanically inclined but by no means a carpenter or bodyman. was hoping someone might have plans for this so i can try to piece together the missing roof sections

ive emailed the company that builds reproduction kits in hopes i can get just the roof parts of the kit but have yet to hear back from them

currently updating the electronics, was gutted besides the old taycol single coil motor. once shes mechanically sound id like to go abouts restoring her, coat the inside of the hull since its bare wood at the moment and give her a fresh coat of paint and varnish

could really use some help with the roof construction tho, i might be able to slap something together from scratch but its probly gonna be crap, like to be able to at least see how its supposed to be built so i have a frame of reference to go off of, plans would be really nice but even pictures of completed roofs or pics of the build.

If you Google Images "Aerokits Sea Commander" you should get a selection of pictures which may help. Together with the plans from Harry that might do the trick.

            Good hunting,

            Dave

              010318 015.jpgsq inst 1.jpgHi Andrew,

These are diagrams from the instruction from the more modern and larger JoTika CNC cut kit for the Sea Queen which 14" longer than the Sea Commander, which I think is an ideal size. The Sea Queen is quite bulky I have built 2 and sold them both sq inst 2.jpg

The principle is the same a 1/8" ply base and formers with 1/16" ply tops which overlap the cabin sides, hope this helps

My Sea Commander in the photo.

              Regards Ray
