      Hi Ray,

Can I hang on to that very kind thought until the weekend and see what they come back with please?

I looked at the 1:1 scale of the Cat, lovely lines on it but way above my pension smiley

      Regards

      Roger

Re. plan enlargements; I used to go to Staples/Office Supplies but they have now closed down, so I now go to a local architects stationery supplier who has a large machine for copying building drawings and maps to large sizes for that type of customer. Not had any problems as yet.

Hi. All, some photo's of my freinds Cossack on the water.

She is quite stable, running through the waves created by other boats, and steers very well with the large single rudder.

          Regards.

            Hi Eddie,

I don't think we will have and stability issues as we will be 5/8" deeper in the water than scale so we may need slightly more ballast, still the real ships leaned over in high speed 30 knots turns 😀 I wished the planking on the sides was 3/16" now more scope for sanding a decent shape !

            regards Ray

Hi. Ray, I guess you used 1/8" thick balsa then? I now have the benefit of your experiancesmiley.

              Regards.

                Hi Eddie,

Yes 1/8th planks 3/8th wide generally but at the bow had to use 1/8" square strip to achieve the flare 😀 to hocoss 2 230719.jpgt for the workshop ! But not for having a cold one 😂

                  Good evening Cossack's

Wet day at the War & Peace Revival show at the Hop farm Paddock Wood Kent my grandson and I enjoy this show ! We were soaked but like the tanks and guns etc 😀

Just planking the starboard side of the hull tonight the port side has shaped up ok with light weight filler 😁I

Anybody else out there in Model boat land fancy having a Go ? It really is a fairly easy build, very enjoyable .

                  Regards Ray

                    Hi Roger,

Shall I get the enlargements and send them to you ? It would be good to see some more Cossacks being built 😀

Yes long running catamaran project coming along its a 1978 Comanche 32 bit of a challenge to keep it light, just ordered the sails from Frank at Nylet so I'd better get on with that aswell 😯

                    Regards Ray

Hi Ray, just been to the copy shop and even though they've had the plans for a week 'they've been too busy to do them!!!'

Can I take you up on your kind offer please?

                    Thanks

                        Thanks Ray, have PM'd you.

I spent a very hot day in my workshop attic having a clearout, now have plenty of storage space for my boats, once they are sorted out the workshop is having it's tidy-up so that I can work properly in there rather than falling over stuff all of the time. smiley. I'll take some pics once it's tidy, too embarrassed to take therm now. blush.

Oh just been told I'm to be a grandaddy for the fourth time!

                        Onward and upward woo hoo

Both sides now planked, filling & sanding next, slowing down now to let the mass build gang to catch up, although I expect Eddie has finished all ready 😀

Comanche coming on in the interim, photos in the album, I love Depron it's official 😁I

Congratulations on your 4th Roger, it makes having kids worth while 😀

Hi, Both, yes congratulations Roger, grandkids are great, you hand them back after a day, I have mine tomorrow.

Had problems with the internet over the last few days, but hope we are now up and running again.

I have nearly finished planking my hull, but have some other, non boat jobs, to do.

                            Yours is looking good Ray.

                            Regards.

Hello Ray, It not motivation i need it time. My steam interest keeps me busy and it must be seasonal for me to look at boats with going to the coast a lot.

I have tried the Cossack and finished the hull and decks, but then it stayed on the shelf for quite a while until i sold it on ebay to a chap in Leeds.

I should maybe look for a model to re furb or one 90% finished. I would probably get somewhere then?

Grandchildren can be a full time job. I currently (and only temporarily) look after a 3 year old two days a week and a 4 year old for a further two days a week. No wonder I haven't the oomph to get into the workshop. Thankfully they start assorted nursery and primary schools in September. Then I might get something done.
