          Hi Eddie,

Yes it's a real pain, but it has to be done, until we drop as they keep moving the date back !! Still I enjoy it (most of the time ) 😀

Hi. Ray, looking good, I have fitted the bilge keels today and, after a visit to the model shop, I have cut the rear deck and started to mark that out for all the superstructure, there's a lot going on in that area.

                Regards.

                    Hi Roger,

I used 385 brushed motors and I think maybe Calder Craft stern tubes which now have gone back to brass outer's as they are easier to solder an oiling tube to, and stainless shafts & 30mm handed 3 blade brass props. Roger looks like he has prettier one's on his !!

                    Regards Ray

Hi. Roger, I have gone with the 400 siize motors and Raboesch 25mm3 blade handed scale props with the fine line 10" M2 prop shafts.

                      Regards.

                      Eddie.

                          Hi Cossacks,

If I learned anything from building HMS Diamond a slightly more modern Daring Class Destroyer you always need good access to the works for oiling and running repairs, so Cossack is having a large section of the rear decking removable, which will include the rear superstructure, AA platform, torpedo tubes and the rear funnel, easy to say but keeping the deck camber maybe a challenge, we will see

I have cut up and painted 1/4" steel plates to fit inside the base of the hull to put 5 lbs of ballast in the best place, then the decks will be glued in place.

Eddie and I are meeting up on Sunday morning to compare notes and hulls at the Chantry MBC's tug day at Bluewater Shopping Centre.coss 031019.jpg

I used to do the Midlands Show years ago, Stoneleigh, Donington etc back in the "Company Car" era but now I'm to mean to travel that distance these days, but this is the Engineering time of the year for me I always fancy getting some castings in the lathe for a turning session!!

Have a good day, I'll be with you in spirit

Yes I didn't get any response from John Haynes either 😕

Maybe he has packed up & retired ?

I'm only going to build as shown in the drawing, I think we will get a good effect with bits and Bob's from the scrap box.

That,s a shame about John, he had all the rght fittings for our Cossacks, Deans marine have an etched brass sheet for destroyers at £20-00 I will give that a try.

You are right about the build, otherwise we could be building for several yearssad.
