Morning all,
I too read Dave Ms link and can see why some people would be upset by adverse comments on a build post. I think there are many boaters out there who are fine builders but refrain from posting their efforts to the world as they somehow feel that they themselves are average and their efforts are of no interest. This is so far from the truth, as Graham points out that despite his years as an Aeromodeller 'cock- ups, sometimes appear during a build, and Warts and All articles are a great learning curve for us all, We all learn by our, and others, mistakes, and I am happy to report them in my Model Boats build articles.
Designing projects and working out lesson plans for exam level students at 'O' and 'A' level technology, which invariably means making an example for them is a great leveler to teachers. Expectations of their abilities are high but rarely come up to the standards we expect as their teachers. But, and this should always be remembered, we are all different and anyone who builds and publishes his/her efforts has built to the best of their ability and condemnation from someone who has never built one is a nasty and undermining attitude that we can do without.
I don't post pictures on this or other sites because I'm to stupid to work out how to resize my 6mb photos, but I will send them to Paul or now Graham to see what they think. Of course there are cock-ups in them, We're only human after all, but I will add my own e.mail to answer any problems and I'm glad to learn from them.
I love Dave Ms disclaimer….'Remember I have already built two of these, (So zip it maybe?) ….
The Sea Breeze is looking lovely Graham….very neatly done and definately a grade B plus in my register!!!
