Rowbot – Alan Senior

Hello

Although I have been a boat modeler for more than 60 years and a long time subscriber to the Model Boats magazine, this is my first foray into the forum,

In 2010, there was an article in the magazine about an electronic interface to convert two channels of R/C into four channels for moving oars on a rowboat.  The author was Alan Senior and the device was called “Rowbot”.

At the time, Alan offered a small number of finished units for sale and I purchased one.  When it arrived, it was accompanied by a diagram of the connections for the unit and a note from Alan saying he would send me full instructions by email.  I cannot remember whether I received those instructions but, in any event, I lost all my old data a few years ago in a computer hard disk failure.

I would now like to use the unit and it would be helpful to have Alan’s detailed instructions.

If, by some chance, a reader has a copy of those instructions, I would be very grateful to get a copy of them.  Alternatively, if anyone knows how to contact Alan, I will see if he still has them.

Alan Senior’s items were featured in Marine Modelling International magazine. An internet search indicates the Rowbot controller was updated in the September 2010 edition of the magazine. I can’t find the original article. Marine Modelling International magazine is no longer published.

I hope you manage to find further information on the controller.
