Not sure what wrong as I could not add text – should I do text first ?

I mentioned in the scratch build topic that I am slowly trying to complete my steam boat – so thought a few pics might be in order !

I am hoping to find a copy of the River Princess drawing as I fancy doing a small one as well with a simple oscillator engine.

          Hi Richard,

You can add text or images as you choose. Just treat both as paragraphs. With text press enter for a clear flashing cursor. With an image click on the bottom right corner of it and press enter. Again this will give you a clear flashing cursor. Gives a nice break between pictures or allows a bit text to be inserted.

          Len.

Richard, the link to the River Princess plan is in my reply to your earlier enquiry.

Beautiful looking model. The Stuart D10 fits it perfectly. I suspect that you will have your work cut out getting that one up and running reliably before you have time to start thinking about building another one!

If going for an oscillator make sure it is a twin cylinder, double acting so it can be controlled for direction and speed from a single channel.

Yes, it certainly is a lovely looking boat and steam installation.

If I’d got into the hobby sooner I would have liked to build one but I’ve got enough on my plate with what I am building and my next project.

<p style=”text-align: left;”>No Richard I’m going for the simple route, as I noted in the Scratch build thread I’ve picked up a Northwest 6 boiler and single cylinder oscillator. So it will just chug around until it runs out of puff ! With rudder control only.

Thought the River Princess would be about right as the Fantail is NLA ?
<p style=”text-align: left;”>I have built a Stuart Compound – rather bigger ! But would need a simpling valve to get it to self start officially but I find it normally self starts and if it doesn’t a quick flip of the reverser gets it going !
