Hello, I"m new to the site but a modeler of RC aircraft. for a number of years. My winter project will be to build out my Italeri MAS torpedo boat as an RC conversion. My question at this point is about what type of motors and electronics would be appropriate for this particular model. I am open to all suggestions.

The boat is approx. 1/35 scale and 22" long. It has dual prop shafts so could use two motors since I haven't found a gearbox that converts a single motor to dual shaft outputs. I don't have access to a 3D printer so not able to make my own unit.

        Your information is appreciated!!!!

If you logon and put MAS 568 in the search box you will find a Plastic Magic article by Dave Abbott on converting this kit.

Thanks Tim, interesting article for single motor installation. I’m looking for double prop conversion so will need to consider two motor/ESCs install or somehow find a gearbox to work off a single motor. Hope to find some options still.

SHG Models used to sell multishaft R/C conversion kits for these type of models. Although no longer specifically listed as such I think you will find that most, if not all, components are still available in their catalogue. If you speak to them it is likely that they will be able to tell you which ones you need.
