I am organising a model Boat Rally on August the 15th/16th this year.There is FREE camping on site for the ones that want to stay out and there are plenty of B&B’s around the area.Sailing will be either on the Lagoons or on the main Lake at LLanberis by the Slate Museum.Ther will be traders in Attendance who will make you part with some cash!!!!!

Just a quick update on this event which contarry to popul repeat NOT canceled ar rumours is NOT cancelled Ibut DEFINATLY ON

 

Traders cofirmed as comming as follows

ACTion components all electrical goodies esc’s etc

MMB Smoke genarators Moptors etc

Component shop   Batts and more Batts

Reades Models…Fittings Bec etc

A Model World…you name it in kits Marc stocks it

 

The mad omra mob are commign with their loony petrol boats WOW are they Fast

Plenty of boats on the water

Various displays

Straight running by Phil Abbot  and Stavros(the latter is better than his tutor…HA HA)

Club 500 racing

Springer madness

Tug Towing

Loads of spot prizes etc

 

The name of the gane on htis event is FUN AND EVEN MORE FUN

 

Where else can you come and sail anyboat whatsoever from an IC to a sedate clipper in shuch specatcular scienery and better than that there is NO addmission charge I repeat it is FREE.

No show in the UK can compare to this one as they all charge addmission even hte traders get in free(now thats a first) 

 

There is FREE camping whether you have a caravn or tent yes even thats FREE.

 

Right then without the cooperation of the Padarn Country Park wardens and his staff this evnt would not take place so if you see him in his land rover just say thanks it goes a VERY long way

 

Special mnetion must also be given to the GWynedd Model and Yaught group without their cooperation it would be impossible for this event to proceed

 

Now whats stopping you commign along for a weekend of sheer bliss,there is even a night sail on sat night and a barbi….bring your own food sorry but thats nto FREE But the cooking is !!!!!!!!!!!!! Well need anything cremating,oops meant cooking ,well a can of Bodingtons goes down my throat ever so smoothly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

 

Serriously though the only rules are as follows

 

ALL IC TO HAVE A FAILSAFE FITTED AND SILENCED IT WILL BE CHECKED BY AN OFFICIAL AND PASSED TO BE SAFE

 

IF YOUR VESSEL GETS INOT TROUBLE NO ONE IS ALLOWED TO USE THE RESCUE BOAT ONLY MYSELF OR PHIL

 

IF USING A DISBOSABLE BARBI PLACE ON SOME SLATE AND NOT ON THE GRASS

AND EXTINGUSHED AFTER USE…..THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT.IF IT IS STILL LIT AND YOU HAVE GONE OT BED AND i HAPPEN TO BE ON A WALKABOTU YOU SORRY TO SAY THIS BUT WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE THERE AND THEN

 

NO ONE TO CLIMB DOWN THE SLATE WASTE TIP TO RESUE THEIR VESSEL IT IS FAR TO DANGEROUS

 

UES THE LITTER BINS AS PROVIDED

Dave has asked a simple question and despite some errors in the text was quite read-able..

 

The event is being held in a great location , and was a dam good weekend last year. This is the sort of event people are crying out for but all you can do is take the preverbal !!

I thought this site was about building boats, So I think the persons who think they are so superior because they can spell should rember its boats we are hear for  and I think if some of them where given the same treatment they would have Tosed there teddy again and gone of and sulked as they have in the past, just because you post more than otheres doesent mean you own the site or that you should get any special treatment..

I’m with Mr Build on this one. DJ might not be the most fluent writer of the English language on the Forum (it’s not actually his first language) but he more than makes up for it in enthusiasm and organisational ability.

We’ll be there to support his efforts and get a bit of that Snowdonia scenery – I’ve been too long away from it.

Thanks to all for their support very much appreciated.

 

Right then lets get this back on track so to speak I am willing to listen to ALL sugestions of events anything  specific that we can think of EXCEPT Throwing the organisers into the lake,we dont want Caeranrfon hit by a TIDAL wave.

And no we are not going to throw Colin Bishop in either Phil Abott well thats another story.

 

If anyone wants pictures of the venue putting up then just ask (how the heck do I do that)

 

The vent will be a success just like last year but bigger and better mark my words on that.

 

On the Sat evening I am trying to get a firework display up and running if finances permit,and sorry  it wont be a viking funeral either

 

If ANY club or society want to attend this event could you let me know,forearmed is forwarned.

Just to say I have beem a bit quiet on this for a while as there was a small problem with algae on the lake, and we were worried we might have to cancel. Good news after meeting with the Park Warden today all is well and the event is all go go go.

We will be doing a night sail on the small lagoon on the Saturday night, either during the BBQ, after the BBQ or even with the BBQ, so fit lights !!!!.

There will be 230 v for battery charging during the day (plus of course the various traders who will be more than happy to sell you more)

Of course if you plan to arrive on the Friday, you can night sail then as well.

I wil be posting an idea of the event details later (which of course are very “loose”)
