      Hi All,

I’m planning to build a few boats of my own, one for learning and getting things wrong as to be expected using a Fibre Glass Hull that i have aquired. Another is going to be a cat.

Both are to be mostly for recreational use but maybe the cat will be fast enough for racing (If i can find a club in south wales).

I intend to put twin screws (Props) in both and build both from scratch, now the designs i have no problem scetching but what sort of motors etc are best? also how is it best to begin? should i start with the electrical parts then add the decks etc?

If anyone wants i’ll post up some links to my own drawing plans for both boats once they are completed.

      Cheers All.

You could read the construction articles on the Tyne Offshore Patrol Boat which MB ran at the start of this year which had useful ways of going about it .. getting electronics sorted out with ‘sea trials’ before continuing with the deck and superstructure/detailing and making sure no moving/working part is sealed in .. becuase sure as eggs is eggs it will be the bit to play up
