      Morning All,

I have received sad news from Jim’s son Gordon last evening of his passing, I had a few conversations with Jim over the last few years, a great modeller with a fabulous eye for detail building his Clyde Puffer and Model Railways , we both lost our better halves in the last couple of years and I believe we supported each other through our common experience’s and shared interests . I knew Jim was ill for some time, but he has now departed to the Boathouse in the sky where there are plenty of building materials and glue 🙂

      Rest in Peace Jim

      Kind Regards  Ray

A very sad loss.  Jim was a great contributor, built excellent models, and always very helpful with his advice.

Incredibly sad Ray, I had no idea that James was so ill.  I enjoyed his builds and our frequent exchanges and appreciated the fact that he was someone who still posted comprehensive build threads on the forum.  I always felt that he had such a positive outlook on everything and was always supportive of other people’s input.  I think he did amazingly well to finish his puffer if he was in such poor health, all credit to him.

I’ll certainly miss his input on here.

When he originally mentioned his health problems it was clear that the outlook was bleak but he continued posting as usual – a brave man.

We will certainly miss him on here.

Very sad news, he seemed such a gent as well as being a skilled modeler.
