      Hi model lovers.
I was woundering if anybody can help me out here. I would like to add some figurers of seaman to my trawler (scottish trawler sheila) but I am having trouble finding any. Could anybody help me and point me in the right direction as to where I can buy some from.

      Thanks

      Neil Winfield.

          Hi Neil,

You don’t mention scale which would help, but I find that the larger the scale the more difficult to find a selection of figures. George Turner did a good range in resin at different scales up to 1:12. I myself am still lookin for some suitable figures for my motor yacht in 1:16.

Garden railways were a good source at about 1:25 and 1:19 but they seem to have dried up too- or are rather whimsical! Tamiya were also a good source for 1:32 conversions as were Scalextric figures- not sure if the latter are still available. There seems to be no shortage of lifeboat figures.

Good luck and let us know how you get on.

            Hi Guys,

I believe George Turner has given up.

I’m off to Dortmund in April and I know there will be several model figure retailers there, I’ll try and get their names and let you know, hope Dave Wooley can remind me on the coach.

I know the problem. I was going to get some Lifeboat figures, for a Model Slipway Tamar, from George Turner but left it too late.
Anyone know of any 1/16th scale lifeboat men? The ones from Speedline look very nice but at £21 each a bit pricey. My wife is getting fed up of me diving into toy shops, even when on holiday abroad, to look for figures to be converted.

                Thanks

Regarding the earlier question, I believe that George Turner figures are now produced by Adrian's marine Figures – see **LINK**
