Weather looks not too bad for Sunday >> **LINK**

I for one will be there with at least two working boats – not necessarily all completed (pending some last minute snags).

Will need to hunt out the batteries and start charging up.

Popped round to give Trevor a few items and saw the boat. Looking very nice. Will look stunning tomorrow in the bright sunshine.

Have prepped all craft now., batts charged and picnic stuff purchased.

Have 5 transmitters, 10 boats in all, tow ropes, small footballs, floating markers (or mines, depending), box of spares, fishing pole, gumboots..kitchen sink. Berengar has sufficient army gear to look the part. Camera sorted.

Will get there quite early to pin up a few small notices for the public, and ensure that we get a bit of order on the grassy knoll as its usually covered in stuff as we arrive and plonk everything down. Will look much better especially as I know there will be LOADS of chaps with not only landing craft but ww2 ships for a bit of a display…eh ??

Well, I have prepped everything to the last degree and all the boats and so on are in the shed, fitted with batteries, all transmitters have been charged, all I have to do is load up tomorrow!

I will be checking post and PM`s tomorrow early if anyone has anything to say, other than that, I will see you all down there. Anyone arriving much later than 10am MAY have a parking issue if, as I know it is going to be, a nice day.

Hi All .Well a trip to the land of milk and honey was well worth the effort.. What a place to have a gathering of like minded people. To sets the scene ,In the middle of a beautiful park with a herd of deer within 50 yards tells you that this place is for the genteel. people feeding deer by hand fascinated me.

Boats arrived by many different modes and some of the boats were worth displaying at any assembly.

Met some really nice folks ,Ashley of course and Trevor .(Now his warship is worth seeing and some worthwhile tricks to enhance his cut in half creation . An MTB in a metal box carried by 2 strapping lads ,what was not electric was not worth comment .Rotating turrets 3 different sound systems ,all superbly finished .Ashleys massive very well executed LMC a sight to see (Well done to all your friends on their creations)Major error ,mine battery not charged properly resulting in a very short time on the water Why on returning I discovered that I had charged the 7.2 volt battery at too high a rate which had cut off when the battery got too hot ,lesson learned (do not charge at to high a amp setting

. The Tetley Tea Boys Band entertained quite a crowd assemblied around the Grassy Mound. One lady of great age was heard to comment to her Grandson :I use to dance to that music. Time to go and the dread of travelling around the M25 had me fraught with fear but with luck I made it home to beautiful Lincolnshire.winkMichael

Chaps. Our day went quite well, beautiful day.Very good crowd of regulars, perhaps 30 plus boats of one sort or another. Weed stopped the flypast and games planned though. No extra unknown bods to speak of, so about about a dozen or so landing craft. Not great, but a good effort from the Bushy Park crew. "Beach" landing was manually assisted, and not a full compliment of on-the-water craft due to the very SMALL beach!

Mike. So nice to see you, and the Tetley tea band did indeed entertain the troops! You were not alone with battery problems. Sorry that there was not so much as planned going on, but you know the issues we had on the day. Will pm you.

Bob. we did have some opposition see picture..

better report later. pm`s accepted for more info!

Nice sunny morning with little or no wind.

Alas the dreaded weed spoiled it a bit but there were a few runs in between clearing the props.

Hopefully next weeks weather will be just as good and no weeds for the repeat performance.

Next Sunday we will be having the second bash at this although the weather is not supposed to be very good. I hope to get a few pictures of boats in line this time rather than all mixed up, I dont suppose we will have quite the turnout as last Sunday but I will be bringing everything down again, spare landers and all, for those who just want to pop in and sail, be my guest.

I would be pleased to have any pictures from anyone that took them to add to the record of the day.

Well. Its the day today, and the chaps are either inland or still on the beach

I popped down the pond this morning to take some snaps of my landers in their "event" livery and equipment, something I didnt do on the day.

We are of course having much the same thing THIS Sunday for those that missed out .

I will be bringing everything along plus spare landers for those without.

The pond I can report is now crystal clear so no excuses. All those with battery trouble, please buy some new ones..

Next up is of course the start of WW1 for which I am unusually well founded with boats and planes.

                        Ashley

See you all tomorrow. Looks like it is going to be another fab day, lets see if we cant do more in the way of formation flying this time, and assault the toddy beach all at once (without manual assistance).

Mike F, yours will be there. i have added a flag and a few troops just to busy up the rear deck if thats ok, and changed the battery..as you said, the old one was knackered.

I have a gig in the afternoon so will have to leave by 1.45 latest unfortunately.

All boats re-prepped and last batts charging up now.

                          Ashley.

Hi Ashley ,all the best for the day ,the weather forecast looks good . Would love to have been there as it was my dads 100 birthday on Monday . Still searching why he had the Atlantic Star along with a 4 campaign medals. As you know none of his medals would have been named so it is difficult to find any further info without his discharge book .Maybe see you next year for a further fly past wink
