      I like it myself

(Just noticed that the strip is a bit cock eyed

      Will correct it shortly)

Bob, all the figures are 1/12th scale doll's house figures. The model is a Krick Borkum kit built by a gent on the south coast who sadly passed away a good number of years ago now. It came with the Cheddar Puffin plant, as per the first picture but in the second picture it had a Pendle Boiler temporarily fitted for a Model Boats Magazine article.

The chap at the counter looks like our Mr Reffin from this angle. You never know where he is going to pop up next!

Hi Richard, I`ve always thought that chap at the counter was actually you, After all these years too

Your figures look very realistic in your very busy boat and have a good variation of poses

Can you recommend one, from your source, that would be suitable?

It looks lovely and very in keeping with the sprit of the Henley Regatta.

Watching the build with your lighthearted commentary has been a daily highlight of my days.

Great build Bob – been watching with interest. There are some very realistic items available from the online doll house sites – all a very handy 1/12 scale – some assorted cold drink cans , wine bottles , even picnic hampers complete with sandwiches , glasses etc. – last seen they were not that expensive – they would make a great addition.- and bye the bye some boat wheels do have very wide spokes………..

Some of the full size slippers seen on the Thames have wicker chairs for seating – however it would seem those would be more suitable for the garden or patio………

Further to Reds posting a cheat that I use for 1:12 accessories is to buy them from the Sylvanian Families range, they might be childrens toys but the detail is fantastic, I fitted out a canal barge with furniture, bathroom, kitchen and accessories.

                        They even make wicker chairs.

It is well worth looking at their products (just ignore the cute little animal figures)

Some slippers just have one big clear rear area for accommodation, and I have seen them with wicker seats and small tables in.

A wicker basket is just the accessory you need Bob.

A wicker picnic hamper/basket. Can perch behind the cabin on deck, perhaps on a wire rack of some sort.

Now where are my letter transfers when I need them?

It`s time to get the gear back in and a tentative spin in the bath!

This motor controller concerns me greatly……

Bought a pair of these gadgets for the Brutus2 model from a trustworthy dealer in the Modelboats Mag

But the twin MFA 850 motors had a very poor performance

Looked for the set up button…..And they haven`t got one!

No comments from the trustworthy dealer!

So we will try again with the Slipper Launch

Any comments from a user out there?

                                        Bob

                                          Hello Bob

These are the words I found on the Wheelspin Models website for a J Perkins ESC with exactly the same part number and characteristics as yours:

Automatic set-up. Just ensure the trims on the transmitter are in the neutral position and the "travel adjust" or "end points" are set at 100%.

Usual disclaimer but looks a bit like plug and play.

I have never had much luck with those speed controllers, I have thrown 3 away !!

Mtronics I find are far better

Cast your mind back to when we were building Brutus and discussing ESCs, a big problem back then were the cheap and nasty ones from China that used to blow up, burst into flames or simply not work. They looked just like the J Perkins units and carried the same serial number 5510315.

You might also remember that I had used one in a model with disastrous results.

Ever since I have always used equipment from Action Electronics, they are bullet proof and have never let me down.

Yes they might cost more but what value do you put on the model that has taken weeks to produce.
