Basil died several years ago, but why not ask the questions anyway. There is a lot of knowledge out there.

I am sorry to hear that Basil is no longer with us I always enjoyed his articles. My model steam launch Lily is based on his Mabel design and I am about to start one based on his Rose design. In Model Boats Magazine April 1986 Basil Harley describes in his Marine Miscellany a Kit by Laughing Whale company of Maine a New England Launch. This looks like a nice boat, but it is no longer in production. I have found a place where I can buy a hull based on the original Laughing Whale design, but increased to 25". I am hopping that someone will have some photos of the original model or plans. I am particularly interested in the Kitchen Rudder system that was used on this model.
