Australian Wooden Boat Festival 2013

Tasmania has become the all-things maritime state of Australia.

Our marine college, the CSIRO fisheries and Antartic divisions are based there as well as dozens of traditional wooden boatbuilders and trade schools.

I recently went down to this years festival and it is a world class event. I shall make it a regular biannual visit.

In further posts Ill include the best of my photos. Incidently I appreciate this is not about models but Im proud that here in Australia we have such a live craft that is being handed down before the skills die out.
