a very nice kit, and will sail in almost any sea state……..I built one many years ago, as it was bought for me for a Christmas present……built at the kitchen table, she was [and I kid you not] ready for the pond at Fleetwood by 1st of February……….sadly the lake had been drained for maintenance and I had to wait till easter before I could sail her. I also jest not, she was rammed once by a friends 8 foot battle class destroyer by mistake, and although her fore deck was completely under water in the incident………..she bobbed up like a cork with only bent bulwark stays…………a superb little boat to build with so much scope for individual and personal detailing………..I would recommend this kit WITHOUT any doubt. I had originally a little Monoperm and a 12v 7 amp hour battery in her, but changed to a 555 motor. even with the 555 in her, running time was in excess of a light year, lol……..so a smaller battery, physically would still give you plenty of running time and space for smoke unit and sound system………..wish I still had mine.neil.
