Well, my kit arrived this morning and initial impressions are good.

The grp hull is robustly laid up with a good gelcoat finish with no air bubbles apparent.

I shall give the hull a float in the bath and load with ballast so that I can get an idea of the weight required to get down to the correct waterline.

By weighing all the other components, I should be able to assess what sort of weight I have available for battery selection.

Having done that, I shall start the build by constructing a building stand to get things level on the bench.

Buoyancy test completed, 18kg added to bring hull to approximate waterline.

All build materials and hardware likely to be around 8 kg so I shall be able to use a deep cycle lead acid battery which should give me very good run times.
