Hello Paul,

Thanks for this info. Looking at bits in Robbe box, think this model may well be shal we say an ‘interesting’ one,Hmmm!

First time I have tackled one of these practically all plastic kits, prefer a bit more of the model building myself.

i would use some 1/32 airfix multipose figures german army modifyed with miliput

they do the job they looked good on my wesiel fast patrol boat that was 1/40 scale ?

Thanks Mick,
that is rather what I was hoping to try. I have also been told however, that toy soldiers are to 1/40 scale – true or false I don’t know – so I guess a vist to the nearest ToysrUs type outlet is on cards to check!!!

Hello Mick,

Are these figures still made by Airfix to your knowledge.? Looking at Airfix website, figures only quoted at 1:72 scale.

they are on ebay nearly every week old but still available also

i beleive they are makeing them again hope this helps mick

also look out for 88m ack ack crew they have overclothes on but

i think they are tamiya figures at 1/35 scale

On my large leander,still in dry dock !!!!!,i have used the german u boat crew and just given them a coat of paint ,or 2,to make it look as if they are in the tropics and they look real good from a distance and not to bad up close .Ohyeah sorry they are from revel at 1/72 scale

Airfix multipose figures are in 1/32 scale.. Crewmen for , for instance, Tamia kits will be 1/35 and that much smaller and a bit better for your 1/40 application. OR get some cheapo soldiers-in-a-bag from a.n.other toy/sweet shop as they are usually on the small size. they are soft plastic and thus dont glue very well but I am sure that with a bit of trimming and painting some crewmen could be obtained. depends on what sort of standard you want i suppose?? i did a 1/40 scale graupner weisel fast patrol boat i used the tamiya ww2

flak crew they have the one piece suits on like the all weather suits they

would have used in bad weather they are 1/35 scale but they looked ok
