Motors and prop advice wanted for 1/16 scale Arun lifeboat.

If you have built a 1/16th scale Arun class lifeboat using a Mountfleet fibreglass hull I could do with some advice to what BRUSHED motors and props to use. I used Raboesch 35mm 4 blade type D props for my 31" Tyne class lifeboat from Cornwall Model Boats and they work well. But the Arun model will be 39" long, 13" beam, perhaps same type of prop 40mm ?? As for the motors, I have not a clue, this is the larget boat I aim to build. Looking for a scale top speed of 20 Kts, the top speed of the real boat. Thanks in anticipation.

One of my members did an Arun a lot of years ago. Back when he did it he used "A pair of Buehler motors". Not a lot of help as Buehler, like all motor manufacturers, made a wide variety of motors. I'm not sure if the trader he bought them off is still going, but he did tend to stock surplus and pulled motors.

Probably by good luck, he got the right power, about 120 watts each, 10 Amps on 12 Volts. From memory, about 850/900 size can. The boat semi-planed, much like the real thing, and knocked a big hole in the water at about 6 mph.

Hopefully someone with better information will join in.
