I'm finishing off an Aeronaut Queen and I need to buy all the equipment to set it up for radio control.

I was told to install a motor that needs water cooling. That is something I don't want to do because I will be using it in the sea. We don't don't have boating ponds in Malta.

Can anyone advise on what equipment I need and where I can buy it from please?

I was also told the prop shaft provided in the kit is not up to the job. Is that correct? should it be replaced?

I gather I will need a motor, speed controller, battery pack, charger, servo for the rudder. I think I can get a transmitter and receiver locally.

      Many thanks.

          Hi Patrick

          I am using a 50mm brushless 700kv on a 4S 5800mah Lipo battery with a 50mm 2blade prop.

A 120A car ESC, so no water cooling required.

I run mine in saltwater with no problem.

I did have to add some lead weight at the stern to get it to plane correctly.

A standard 4.5KG servo for the rudder.

Thanks Harry, Sounds a lot better than a water cooled electric motor. I have a hankering for a three bladed prop …. would that make a difference?

              Hi Patrick

I think a 3 blade prop would be OK, the motor would have the power to drive it.

Test a few plastic ones before going for brass or CNC props (cheaper)!!!
