        Hello Peter

I realise I`ve been overdoing it lately……Now going to regroup and go over again some of the work already done.

Can`t imagine how Alex has made so many big ships in the last 50 years……..he reminds me of a loco modeller, LBSC, in the days of yesteryear, who used to build steam loco`s in 10 weeks!….Where a normal builder would take 2 years!……mind you, some of his stuff was dead rough!…..allegedly

        Like mine?

            Hello Len

The frantic progress in the last week was just to get a feel for the finished boat and it was really mostly cosmetic…….I`ll take it easy from now on!

There`s no rush to see it finished!

            Glad you like it

At the moment, I`m messing about at the stern end to see if I can make use of the rivetted card idea around the prop shaft area

            Call again

Thank your self lucky its only card your working with Bob,

The workers on the real ship must have had a right job on round the stern and there must have been some odd shapes round the stern on that ship, get that CAD working for you or tracing paper hey!!

              Looking great

                Hi Bob,

What crew did she have? I think you should advertise on here for a "virtual" crew, I would apply.

                  Hello Ducky and Len

On the first voyage to New York, it carried 35 passengers and 415 crew!…………I can only think that wages must have been pitifully low in those days……..it took 4 years to build and employed 100s of men.

Ducky……The hull was made from 0.875" wrought iron……..can`t imagine how they built such a graceful ship……..and like you said, the stern must have been a struggle……no oxy-acet in those days

                      Hello John

Where do you get your fan motors from?……….Scrap yard or spares shop?

There`s a sort of model boat show next month at Ellesmere Port………Was hoping to find a suitable motor there.

Thanks for looking in……..keep it up

                      Bob
