Hi All,
I'm back with more questions. I've been looking at builds, threads, blogs here and there and a question arises; why is the engine in the scale Huntsman always so far forward within the hull with a long propshaft? Nearly every model you see has this arrangement so there must be a reason for it? Big boats are my experience and the engine/s are always nearer to the stern.
Love me or hate me, ignore me or shoot me down in flames but I have decided to go down the twin engine route with appropriate hull strengthening, probably with 2x low kv, low watt inrunners and hence the question, can I place the motors further to the stern with short props,, more like a 'real' Huntsman?
Just looking at my kit (it has now arrived, great design btw!😉
, I think if I lower the motors as much as possible and go for a 3 blade brass 35mm prop, I will be able to get the right angle through the hull with a short prop and still have enough room behind the twin brass rudders?
I could always use prop uj's to get a better angle through the hull. This boat won't be racing flat out, I am more interested in getting it looking right when on display but I also want it to ride well in the water, hence the questions!
I'm also looking for a pair of brass skegs/p brackets. I don't have the tools or capability to scratch build some, so if anyone can advise?
As always, looking forward to the opinions and ideas from fellow modellers!
Thanks.
