There is now an article feature category for contributions from Website members which can be accessed from the features button on the Homepage or from the new box on the left hand side of the Homepage which explains how they can be submitted.

 

In the meantime Paul has kindly kicked off the new feature with an excellent piece on painting and varnishing which is a subject that comes up again and again.

 

I’m sure many more of you have something to offer.

The MPBA have published a series of leaflets on various legal matters associated with model boating, including boiler testing, insurance, child protection law and health and safety etc. Lost of useful practical information and I have scanned them into albums which you can access from a link on the home page.

Colin has provided an excellent series of information links for the MPBA and I strongly advise everyone to have a good read through them especially if you build and sail large and powerful models.

Can I point out  that it’s not just about  large and powerful models. This could be misunderstood. Any model has the potential to injure  . Care at all times is the watch word but  to be covered   by insurance is essential .

A mix of new open and subscriber only articles now posted on the home page plus two new competitions.

 

One is a draw open to anyone for sets of plans or a hull – click on the Giveaways link – the other is a special competition for some nice Dremel tools being run in Model Boats magazine. To access it online you need to be a subscriber or alternatively you can get the entry form by buying the magazine.

Just being picky, but when clicking on the “subscribe now” button, the headline, in large writing reads ” SAVE up to 22%”   but the accompanying script on the side says “save up to 23%”  ???.

One of my pet hates.. “save UP TO” and not simply “save”. I know everybody does it.

On the Homepage you can now see the cover of the Naval and Lifeboat Winter Special edition.

 

It covers Naval vessels and Lifeboats which are both very popular areas of model Boating.

The contents of the Winter Special are now available on the homepage. It will be in the shops on 29th October but subscribers should receive it earlier depending upon the Royal Mail postal industrial action.
