      Paul,

The statistics are a bit misleading.

I have posted a lot of photos but they are albums needed to illustrate the magazine articles published on the website home page. Because they go with the article text I have designated them all as “Non Public” which is why you don’t see them from the Albums link. I have however started collecting a few photos of some of my own models and will publish these as a “Public album” fairly shortly.

I have also used the “non public” album facility to provide more images under the bigger pictures in the second column on the home page. At the moment I have only put together one for warships but the others will hopefully follow within the next few days.

        Ah that explains it then.

I had a look at your warship postings, and very nice to my grandson really liked the lego one, but I failed to see any claiming fame as being built by your goodself.

Can’t wait to see some of your models as i am expecting perfection

I have posted some more images of lifeboat models accessed from the home page “World of Model Boats” or as an album. As time permits i will post more images for the other headings.

I am still continuing to beaver away on the Website. latest job has been to recategorise all the magazine articles already on the site to hopefully make things a bit easier to find! There is now a link on the Homepage to the Article database. Check it out and let me know what you think.

And we all thought that it couldn’t be done..at least the new web site has allowed you to sort out one problem.
It must have taken many hours to sort out.

                        Many thanks to Colin

Thanks guys, yes it did take a while… For the moment I have tried to keep the headings simple so that the “meaty” stuff can be found easily. I see the articles as an information resource, particularly those about Builds, Kit & Product Reviews and Hints, Tips and Technical.

The problem with some of the old headings was that many articles could fit into two places, for example would you put a warship kit under Kit Reviews or Warships?

To some extent you still have that problem with articles such as Rangefinder and Scale Scene because more than one topic is covered in the article which is why I have created the General heading. However, if necessary they could be separated out into headings of their own – but then again you don’t want too many headings…….

We’ll see how it goes for the moment.

Colin, my suggestion would be, if it’s a kit, regardless of type (i.e., warship, yacht, work boat, etc) it goes under the heading of kits. If you wished, you could create sub headings of model types, but that would mean even more work.

                              Peter.

Yes Peter, that is what I have done. A kit is a kit! If you want to look at warship kits you can type Warship into the search box at the top of the heading, likewise Tug etc. Hopefully that will be a reasonable compromise.

I usually use Firefox as my default browser. Unfortunately the Model Boats website does not seem to display correctly with Firefox but seems fine with Internet Explorer.

Has anybody raised this issue previously.

I usually use IE8 (recently IE7) but I have tried it out on Firefox 3.0.8 and it looks OK to me. I know there can be some issues with IE6.

Could it be something to do with your screen resolution setting do you think?

Problem solved with Firefox. I use a Firefox add-on called Adblock to block any ads that I do not want. Disabling Adblock allows the pages to be displayed correctly.

I do not normally have a problem with this add-on but in this case there seems to be some incompatibility.

                                          Bob.
