On trying to influence the opinions of a lady:
I'm reminded of an ex-girlfriend who was told by her father that she could have a new car for her 21st birthday but that she should choose one that was small, economical, safe, easy to repair and preferably British-made. After several weeks of studying brochures and speaking to many friends and family members she finally decided…………………….
on "a blue one".

On professionals:
At the moment the word 'professional' is banned in our household. I would hate to offend any estate agent or conveyancing solicitor who might be reading this but, if you are either of those, then please keep your head down and pass me by using the long way round.

Just letting you know that I have been a little poorly over the last few weeks

Pleased to say that I am on the road to recovery now

Just decided to have a fiddle and a trial run, sometime next week……Hopefully

First job is a test float in the bath to check for water seapage up the prop shafts……….(Too lazy to strip the props down for greasing)……….Wonderful……..No leaks

So a few drops of oil should be ok for the first run?

But what do you mean about being to lazy to strip the propshafts these aren't the words of an engineer, You know that Kevin follows your example and now he will be confused by your lack of professionalism.

The inboard ends of the propshafts are above the waterline anyway, so my apparent Engineering sloppiness could be excused?

I will do a proper job of tidying up and greasing after the maiden voyage.

Unfortunately, Duckie the Official cameraman is unavailable at the moment, due to the Gas men cometh for a boiler replacement
