At 30,000 rpm I reckon the props are just about ok.

      Where's the funnel gone??

        Oooooops!

        Well spotted, Ashley

I thought there was too much space for the Jolley Boat

        I'll be back shortly

            News update

Still working on the superstructure, but decided to drill out the port holes

Typical…….Three out of five holes clashed with something on the inside of the hull and caused a bit of a mess

Got round the problem by glueing the Curtain rings to a small square of clear plastic and covered the untidy holes underneath

Before we jump on the Bandwagon………I did have a quick check on the inside first and it seemed safe enough to continue at the time…….Not that could see much anyway

            Pictures to follow

The main reason for the mod, was that the holes were too big for the Curtain Rings

Been there, done that Bob! It happened to me on the Silver Mist and it's very irritating. All part of the fun though and your latest build is looking very fine. Keep up the good work- always enjoy reading your posts.

Hello Ian……..Pleased you enjoy the thread

It was most annoying and also very embarrassing

I was going to simply stick the port holes over a darkened area, but went for the drilled hole option

                Still…….No harm done

                Regards…..Bob

                  Captain Bob

Over drilling, such as your portholes, is always a tricky process but there is a foolproof method that allows you to get it right every time.

                    Hi Paul

I always drill undersize then enlarge with the Dremel, but didn`t have any small sanding drums

The holes were slightly oversize, but the Perspex backer got it sorted

It also glazes the windows at the same time…….Clever……eh?

Now pray, tell us what your method is please?

                      Hello Bob

The method, that I always considered to be foolproof, is very simple and fairly straightforward.

                          Dear Captain Bob

The foolproof method is really quite straight forward and is guaranteed to produce accurate results.

I should patent the idea as it would be invaluable to every craftsman.

I`ve still got five more portholes to drill on the other side!

The simple solution is…………………………read the drawings.

                              Paul

Even if the portholes are additional details they can still be plotted and positioned to miss any internal frames.

                                What a let down!

As a matter of fact, your drawings don't show any portholes!

Can't see much of the bulkheads through the hatch opening

I wanted the port holes to be in the correct position, anyway

Working on the Jolly boat and cradles

On some of the full size cruisers, they have a mini crane mounted on top of the cabin, for launching the Jolly

                                        Sounds an interesting feature?

May have to lose the chimney

                                                    Lower anti-torpedo decoy tubes fine.

A nice shiny pale sky-blue for the underside gets my vote or perhaps a dark green for the classic route?

I'll keep the chimney like you suggest

The hull has just been painted bright red again to the waterline, so bang goes the pale blue idea!…..For the time being, anyway

Progress is quite slow at the moment, waiting for the paint to dry
