Paul……Any ideas for creating the Jolly Boat?

      Wonder how they launch it?

How about a brightly coloured rubber dinghy?

A matt brick red rubber boat would be dingy enough wink

The model is looking really impressive now……Even though I say it myself!

I`ll feel a bit lost when it`s finished

Impressive is indeed a fairly apt description, although I think one might safely add a smidgen or two of "aweinspiring" and "marvelous" to it without going in the least overboard (and one should of course always be careful of going overboard on boats, eh wot wot?!)!

                In short: WOW!

Thank you, Banjo…..For your kind words…..Coming from a Masterbuilder such as yourself…….That is praise indeed!

Although I've not got involved with attention to beautiful fine detail, like your good self, the overall impression is very pleasing to the eye

And it can only get better……Although, I'll be slightly embarrassed taking it to the club for the first time!

We are both looking forward to next years show at Haydock to meet our Website chums and have few chats

Lady Joyce should look very impressive on the stand

No doubt she will appear at the 2015 Ellesmere Port show first!……It's only about 2 1/2 months away!

In the meantime……Have a nice Christmas and New Year

                          Hi Dave

The Lady Joyce is certainly impressive and has turned out better than the original design would have done.

As for another build…….the choice will be upto Bob but bear in mind that he has done a lot of building recently and might not want to do another one.

But for something more impressive than the Lady Joyce?

I do have another model in mind that would be very impressive, at twice the length of Lady Joyce it would be built in three sections and be a very demanding model to build and sail.

                            Slightly distorted of course

You should have seen the rigmarole, getting the picture taken……I had to guess which to point the camera, due to lack of elbow room!

                              Hello Bob,

I'm sure you will agree that details are not the be-all and end-all of a what constitutes an impressive model (nor is size for that matter) — and what really strikes me when looking at your latest photos of this build is the marvelous way in which you've re-created in three dimensions those pretty lines, and also the quality of the wood working: shapes that should be mirrored or otherwise symmetrical are just that, that which should be straight is straight, curves flow gracefully and there is a sharpness and uniformity of definition to the edges, all of which I find truly pleasing to the eye.

It is also a feat to admire, because while the result — "yes, that is what a boat looks like" — may appear self-evident to the uninitiated, anyone who've ever attempted making a complex series of shapes out of wood knows that it is anything but, and that it requires true skills to achieve.

Yes, sir: 'tis in awe that I stand!

                              /Mattias

                                    Hi Ash

It will go down stairs……We took it to Haydock last year……..But it was quite light then

                                    Might be 30 lb now……Still ok though………Hopefully

                                    Enjoy your show at Mex

With a coat of paint the hull would be finished and then you could test float the boat.

Lady Joyce would look very nice festooned with fairy lights

Jumping from job to job still, while the varnish/glue dries at a leisurely pace

Covered the cabin roofs and canopy with decorators lining paper
