20240809_083352A bit more progress made on the build ,not as much as i would like as we’re still in the early stages of a house move so time is a bit limited,  but happy with the work done so far. 20240809_083402

I was suspicious about your workshop being so clean and tidy. Then I noted that you’ve just moved in. Very impressive boat. …..and workshop😃👍

All the fleet survived the move of house . The new work space now allows me to display them better.20240815_111704

A display to be proud of.  And room for a few more, always worth having!

Me , being retired gives me time to do mundane things like dusting models and the better half says she is not game to do it in case she busts something

Ah, Oz. Loads of odd indigenous watercraft over there. If I was an Ozzie, I would be making native watercraft. Loads to choose from.

Great job thus far, super planking. Very clean and sharp…that’s what like.

Your right Ashley there are a lot of home grown subjects to base a model on . I’ve decided my next project will be a ex navy steam tug wattle. She was built just prior to the second world war and decommissioned in 1969 since then she has been a working museum piece based out of Port Melbourne.  The picture shows her as she is now I will model her as she was before decommissioning. Should make a interesting build .If anyone would like to follow the build I could do another building blog when I start it(about a months time .) Size wise she will be 40 inches by 8 inches so a nice size for lots of detail, I’ve also found a Australian shop that specialises in marine modelling “Float a Boat” based out of Victoria and prices are really affordable . So any aussie modellers on here give their Web site a look.

That’s a really nice build. Your next project looks equally interesting, an unusually attractive vessel.

Getting close to finishing ,just a few odds and ends plus fitting the RC equipment.  It’s been a very enjoyable build and although not perfect by a long degree I reasonably pleased with the end result. I also learnt a lot of valuable lessons along the way which will stand me in good stead on my next build.

Regards to all the  that followed the build your interest is much appreciated.

Superb, the handrails suddenly bring it to life.  You should be very proud of her, she will attract a lot of positive comment on the water.

My better half said the same,  I’ve got a 5ft.6″ model of the RAN Patrol boat “freemantle” on the list of future builds  that would look great on the water so I might leave this one as a display model only
