      Thanks for the info, Dave
I`ve got your stuff on file from the show.

The model isn`t ready yet and before I jump in, and purchase the gear, I was just checking up on the other options

I assume you are referring to Stavross`s MTB……It did go well!

      Thanks……Bob

Plenty of room to mount a speaker in the bow, fit it upright just infront of the mock engine and let the big bow section be a sound box.

            Welcome back Big Boy

I was wondering where I could fit a speaker……….good idea…..inside the double bass!

Have you kept up with the thread?…….We`ve had a heated debate about “What is scale speed?”……………….etc….Your opinion would be appreciated

I`m leaning towards two MMB 900 motors, with two P98 controllers and two big battery sticks

You haven`t mentioned the weight of your BB yet…..forgotten?

                Looking good Bob

Have you connected the steering wheel to the rudder / fin so it turns as they turn?

Regarding the weight of the BB ……the calculated “all up” weight is high but at the moment without any engine its still liftable by one hand (no scales to check)

                  Morning Paul

I`m hoping to have the wheel rotate with the rudder….It`ll be quite east with a servo  and Y lead……..But I also hoped to have the drivers arms move too……..To please the kids!

Need to get outside again for a good sanding prior to the veneer jobby.

Here`s another view of the “aluminium” look……..It`s amazing what can be done with card construction and an artistic paint finish……….the equivilent to my normal rusty appearance………….I`m very pleased with the effect!

Managed to apply four strips of veneer………Got a few air bubbles, which can be sliced and reglued…hopefully

The veneer is 0.022″ thick and behaves like card. After the glue application, the veneer cockles up and all sorts of tricks are required to get it to lie down!

Try using a twin pack glue instead of that cheap interior PVA then you wont have a problem….

Really struggling at my end……the main problem, is how to apply a clamping force  over most of the strip area!……………Coupled with the compound curves….need a flexible strip to lie directly on top of the veneer…..that should do the trick?

I can foresee a bit of marquetry work coming up shortly!

The snag with a flexible retainer, is that you can`t be sure the veneer has moved slightly

Came up with this idea………Lots of strings clamps with weights hanging down.
