            John

She is lovely and a credit to your building skills, the colour scheme is very much of the period and the coiled ropes are a nice touch.

The nose heavy problem seems to be an issue with this version (Bobs model suffered from the same thing during its first sailing) Having seen your video I just revised the drawings by moving the battery slightly further towards the stern.

Very impressive sailing after you altered the ballast.

Its a well done from me smiley

              Bob and Paul

Thank you to you both for the kind comments. Not having much experience with sailing my models I was chuffed with the way Ellie sailed especially after the ballast change and she turns so quick and so smoothly.

In my eyes an excellent design guys and thank you for sharing it.

Plenty of choice (although you already have the drawings for the last two)

As a total aside do you know if there are any good talk-aways in Lymm.

We will be there in 8 weeks time on a narrowboat we are hiring from Middlewich for a re trial of canal boating as opposed to Norfolk Broads.

                      Hello John

Lymm is stuffed full of takeaways, cafes, restaurants and pubs.

Also a small Sainsburys for the essential bits and pieces.

The Chinese chippy is a stones throw from the village moorings, not a bad chip shop and a pretty good Chinese takeaway.

The Golden Fleece pub is right next to the canal / Lymm bridge and has a very pleasant small pub garden, if you prefer a game of darts then The Bull is right over the road from the Fleece.

Be warned though…..Lymm is a very expensive place to eat out.

Used to be able to get a good meal at the " ye old number 3", is it open again yet. And on the canal.

The old no 3 is open again but I can't tell you how good the meals are.

Sounds like the Golden Fleece or the chippy then.

I will start saving up but with only 7 weeks left it may only be a Jam butty at Lymm prices!!

                              Butty?

The only place in Lymm where you might find such a thing is in a workmans lunch box, alongside his smoked salmon and Earl Grey tea.

You will be alright in the Golden Fleece as its a very nice pub but being a foreigner you might have to leave your passport as security against the bar bill, they do take cash (purely for the novelty value) but you will have to back it up with a major credit card such as American Express Platinum.

Not that Lymm is expensive but most of the cars don't have to park whilst their owners partake of refreshment…they just get the chauffeurs to drive around until they are ready to leave.

                                Apologies Paul!

Of course in Lymm it would be a " Sarn-d-wich" but it would still have jam in it!!

Still not started another boat yet. I am looking for something different. thinking of a paddle boat and of course the steam engine. I have the MTB hull and might play with that when the bird house project is out of the shed.

                                Take care

As some of you know I have had very traumatic past few weeks but I turned on my computer this morning and smiled for the first time since the beginning of August.

I defy anybody not to look at this without any emotion.
