Work done on the paddle boxes…..internally

Made a start on the bulwark gussets

And some progress on the Sovereign Jolly boat

Located some very nice card……Classed as "220 GSM"………. about 0.012" thick

Obtainable from….."The Works" chain of shops

The card has stiffened up the structure nicely

The paddlebox plating is looking very good Bob, I knew you wouldn't be satisfied with the basic kit, Just shows what you can do to bring a basic kit alive.

Sometimes your ability with the paint brush and weathering tecniques amazes me Bob I'f I didn't know better I'd swear that was brass showing through Mate.

More work in progress for my small gang of watchers and lurkers in the wings!

Assembled the winch, which was no small fete!, added the chain holes, made an effort on the mast

We had the club`s Frostbite sail, the other day and there was an immaculately made Glasgow model on show. I was a little disappointed with the performance………There was no paddle wash to be seen and it just didn`t look like a powerful tugboat. So I`ll speed up the wheels accordingly and may even drill a few holes in the blades in search of tortured water!

When the novelty has worn off, that is!

Bob. In theory there would not be much paddle wash, and this would indicate an efficient drive.

But I know what you want and thats what I would want as well!

A technical a question for you

What were full size paddle wheels made from and did they ever break up under over enthusiastic acceleration?

Bob, don't forget a model will never replicate a full sized paddlers wash, don't know the maths behind it.

The wash from the Glasgow as against the much smaller paddler, which is a modified SHG Lady Janet.

This was at New Brighton and the motors are only 3 x 540`s…….Quite small for an 84" model
