Thank you thank you thank you!

Will study your ideas and put them in action. Going to play with my boat/steam plant this week-end.

There is a flotilla event in my city September 12 and I hope to launch it with other boats electric and steam. Until then I will play with it in my backyard pool.

Again thanks for all your advise and encouragement.

      Derek

I have just had a play and, as I suspected, the control valve works just as well in any one of four different positions, at 90 degrees to each other.

Simply rotate the valve through a complete 360 degrees with some air pressure on the engine to find the position of the valve that best suits your needs. One you have located your preferred neutral position your servo should be set to its neutral and the two arms joined together. The servo should then operate the engine giving full control in speed and direction.

          Richard,

I just move the control value that has the two holes for the control wires to the servo. Or do I undo the small nut on top and move the value 360 degrees while apply air pressure. Also when you say "and the two arms joined together." do you mean in the same hole on the servo horn or one on the horn but one side of the horn and one on the other, or just one wire.

          Cheers,

              Richard et al,

Just a wrap-up as I contemplate my next boat/build. Had a wonderful Fall evening at the pond with club members enjoying the sailing. Thanks for getting me this far.

She looks good Derek. As you can see the Borkum has a very large rudder making it very manoeuvrable and the engine provides more than enough power for it. I'm sure further tweaking to get things just as you want them will help to settle things down to many years of reliable operation. Lovely job.
