A lot of rot around the missing rudder post and that was the start of it !!!

Built in the late 60/70s by one of our deceased club members.

        Another member bought the boat.

I was ask to build a trolley for it and made a new rudder !!!!

Ooh er Harry. A bit of work needed there eh! How will you deal with the rot? I used wood hardener once and that was pretty good, seeping into the soft (dry) rotten wood and going quite hard.

Dig out the rot and Plastic bond by the bucket loads !!!!

Lots and lots of sanding with 80 grit sand paper.

Knock out a lot of lumps and bumps on the hull so far.

The lower section under the drive line was rotted, so a big cut back to solid wood.

Winging the rudder design and thinking of stainless strips from car windscreen wipers !!!

A lot of work but it will be well worth it in the end. This is a lovely looking traditional tug on the water.

I have pictures of another Moorcock restoration if they are of any interest to you.

With the summer weather, I have fibreglass the hull and added three coats of red oxide paint.

Still working in the rudder area.

Repainted the green and black on the rest of the hull.

Rewired the old ESC and tested the motor.

                        Finally tested the BEAST.
